BARN HUNT

Barn Hunt is a canine sport that celebrates a dog’s natural instinct to hunt and scent out prey. Inspired by traditional farm work where dogs helped control barn pests, Barn Hunt challenges dogs to locate a live rat (always safely enclosed in an aerated tube) hidden among hay bales.

Dogs must use their nose to locate the rat, signal their find to the handler, and often navigate tunnels and climbs along the way. It’s a mentally stimulating and confidence-building activity that strengthens teamwork, trust, and communication between dog and handler.

Barn Hunt is open to all breeds, sizes, and ages—if your dog has a nose and a sense of adventure, they can play!
